IMPORTANT PATIENT INFORMATION
Essential Clinical Computer System Change
Eildon Medical Practice
Eildon Medical Practice will shortly be undertaking essential work to replace our computer system.
This is a significant change and will temporarily affect some of the services we provide.
From THURSDAY 15th OCTOBER to WEDNESDAY 21st OCTOBER we will be operating an emergency/urgent appointments only service.
Please read the information below and, where possible, plan ahead to help us minimise disruption during this period.
PLEASE AVOID PHONING OR COMING UNTIL AFTER WEDNESDAY 21ST OCTOBER.
APPOINTMENTS
While the new NHS computer system is being installed and configured, we will have limited or no access to patient medical records. As a result:
- There will be no routine appointments available during this period with any clinician.
- There will be no change to our usual arrangements for home visits.
PLEASE ONLY CONTACT THE PRACTICE IF YOUR MATTER REQUIRES URGENT ATTENTION.
Note: If you attend the surgery during this period you may experience longer waiting times than usual. We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
Please ensure that you have enough medication to cover Thursday 15th October to Wednesday 21st October 2026.
Patients WILL NOT be able to order repeat medication during the change period.
Please check your medication and order in good time.
PATIENT ACCESS/ONLINE PRESCRIPTIONS
Patient access will no longer be available from Thursday 8th October
Existing Patient Access users will receive an email from our new NHS service provider explaining how to register for the new service.
IMPORTANT
Patients currently using Patient Access will receive email communication from noreply@myvisiononline.co.uk on Thursday 15th October.
Please follow the instructions within the email to complete your registration. Please note if you order on the new system prescriptions won’t be actioned until after Wednesday 21st October.
TEST RESULTS
During the changeover period, our access to laboratory and other test results will be limited.
This will result in delays in reviewing, processing and communicating results.
When our new clinical system becomes available we expect to have a backlog of results to review and process. We therefore ask for your patience and understanding while our clinical and admin teams work through these as safely and promptly as possible.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
We appreciate that this essential NHS computer change may cause some temporary inconvenience.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for all our patients for their co-operation, patience and understanding during this important and challenging system transition.
